bout booking?

I have a budget in mind...
If you have a budget in mind and want fewer people to come or would like to do things differently to what our packages offer then we can custom make this experience to fit your needs and budget. Remember that these package prices are for 80 guests. Should you have fewer than this then we will bring the package price down.

 

What is the maximum number of people that you can cater for?
Micro-weddings are the new thing! We have a maximum of 80 pax as we want your wedding to be as small and intimate as possible in order to be made as special as possible.

 

Is there extra accommodation available?
Apart from the SkyDeck and Self Catering options we also have 60 beds in dormitory styled cabins, and plenty of space for camping. All of this accommodation is very close together with the furthest being the Pungwe drift cottages.
If other guest would like to stay in a hotel then there are three options roughly an hour away from us, Montclair, Troutbeck and La Rochelle,

 

Can I split the total package cost amongst my guests?
Of course you can. What you could do is choose package 1, which includes accommodation for bridal party in the SkyDeck, the venue hire and a 3 course dinner, and then we can let you know what the price of a cottage with meals would cost your other guests per day.

 

What if I only want 2 courses for the wedding reception?
We can do absolutely anything. If you only want two courses then we can reduce the cost per head.

 

Do I have to hire anything in?
We have a beautiful wedding reception venue, tables, chairs, cutlery, crockery, glassware. So the answer is no - and yes this is included in the package prices.
However if you have a dream picture in your head that is different to what we provide, and want specific things hired in then you will need to arrange this.

 

How does the wedding reception meal and bar work?
We prefer to do a plated option however we can do a buffet if requested. An example of a menu is Fresh, Homemade Basil and Tomato Soup starter followed by a choice between crumbed chicken breast stuffed with basil and mozzarella and served with a rice, seasonal vegetables and a mushroom sauce for mains, and Chocolate brownie and ice cream for desert. With regards the bar we do not allow outside drinks except for Bubbles for the tables. We can do a cash bar or a bar tab system. Wines can be brought in at a corkage price of $5 per bottle.

 

How do the other meals for the weekend work?
We normally keep the meals quite simple but delicious. For example on the Friday night we could do a Lamb on the spit. Then Breakfast/Brunch on the Saturday a full English breakfast or bacon and egg rolls.

 

Can we do a special activity as a big group?
Yes of course, We can arrange for everyone to do the SkyWalk and SkyLine or any of our activities mentioned below.

 

Where is the ceremony and the reception held?
The ceremony will be held in the SkyDeck with the view of Mt Nyangani behind the Bride and Groom. We can however do this in the forest with a similar view depending on the weather. The reception will be in our soon to be stunning wedding venue near the SkyDeck.

 

Important things to take note of.
We are based in the Nyanga mountains which is very special but can also mean cold and wet weather. We will have large fires and lots of heaters at the reception but we must just mention this. Also no other guests except for the immediate wedding party is allowed into the SkyDeck itself unless it is for the ceremony. Please respect this as we do not want any damages to this beautiful Mountain retreat.

Aberfoyle Lodge

2021 will also see the opening of an incredible new wedding venue at Aberfoyle Lodge. As with the SkyDeck Mountain Retreat this venue will ensure that your dreams come true.
